                                            Tallgrass Animal Acupressure motto.

We live in stressful times and we have brought our horses into our stressful environment. They are exposed to some of the same stress factors and react with some of the same health issues as we do.

Given the awareness of the benefits of the ancient healing arts [specifically Traditional Chinese Medicine] and how they can blend with western medicine, more people are using these therapies to contribute to their horses' well-being.

Acupressure is one of the modalities that is proving to enhance horses' comfort, physical and emotional stability and overall health. The effects of acupressure have consistently shown its ability to:

  • Release endorphins necessary to reduce pain
  • Relieve muscle spasms
  • Resolve injuries more readily by removing toxins and increasing blood supply
  • Enhance mental clarity required for focus in training and performance
  • Release natural cortisone to reduce swelling
  • Build the body's immune system

Combining western medicine with acupressure gives us tools to enhance and maintain our horses' health.
